Six years of showing up for Thika

Mountainroutez began with a straightforward idea: a community business that does what it says, every day, without exception.

What we do and who we do it for

Mountainroutez is a local business based in Thika, Kenya, offering neighbourhood services, bookable appointments, and everyday products to residents and small businesses across the town. We operate from our shop on Kenyatta Highway, open Monday to Saturday, and serve a client base that spans individual households, local traders, community organisations, and students at Thika's many institutions. Our market is Thika and its immediate surroundings — we don't operate beyond the greater Thika area, and we don't try to. Being focused allows us to be genuinely useful rather than thinly spread. Since opening in 2018, we have completed well over 800 service requests for more than 350 distinct clients, and roughly 60 percent of our monthly volume comes from repeat customers — people who've tested us, trusted us, and come back. That retention figure is the one we're most proud of, because it can't be faked.

How we work and what we won't pretend to be

Our process at Mountainroutez is deliberately simple: listen carefully, scope the task honestly, agree a timeline and price, deliver, then follow up. We don't over-promise. If a request falls outside our current capability — a specialist trade, a legal matter, a service that requires regulatory licensing we don't hold — we say so plainly and refer you to someone qualified. That honesty about limits is part of how we've built trust in Thika over six years. The atmosphere inside our shop reflects our azure-trust palette — clear, open, and unhurried — because we believe people make better decisions when they don't feel rushed. Our small team brings diverse backgrounds together: logistics, retail, community coordination, and customer care. We don't rotate staff frequently, which means the person who helped you in January is likely the same person you'll speak to in July. Continuity matters for a business built on personal relationships. We're micro-sized by choice, not limitation — it keeps us nimble and keeps our standards high.

By the numbers

Milestones that reflect six years of consistent community work.

  • 350+ clients served

From individual Thika households to registered community groups, over 350 distinct clients have used Mountainroutez since 2018 — across services, appointments, and product purchases.

  • 60% repeat rate

Six in ten of our monthly service requests come from returning clients. That consistent return rate reflects relationships built on follow-through, not just a first good impression.

  • 800+ service requests completed

Every request is logged, tracked, and followed up. Over 800 completed jobs since opening — each one managed by the same small, stable team you'd meet if you walked in tomorrow.
